Heat Turn The Corner With Big Win Over Celtics

Miami picked up its second straight victory on Wednesday, defeating the Boston Celtics 106-98. Jimmy Butler (24 points) and Kyle Lowry (23 points) scored 20 each while Bam Adebayo (17 points, 12 rebounds) and Tyler Herro (12 points, 10 rebounds) each had a double-double. Jaylen Brown (28 points, 10 rebounds) led Boston in scoring in the loss.

The Heat seem to be getting back into the groove after a rough patch in March. Miami suffered a four-game losing streak – its worst stretch of the season – as part of a 2-5 run prior to consecutive wins. A victory over a red hot Celtics squad should reinvigorate the Heat, who are still in the driver’s seat atop the Eastern Conference standings.

Caleb Martin (calf), Gabe Vincent (toe) and Max Strus (shoulder) are questionable for Saturday’s game.

DeRozan Sparks Comeback Win For Chicago

Chicago bested the Los Angeles Clippers 135-130 in overtime on Thursday as the Bulls mounted a 16-point second-half comeback to earn the win. DeMar DeRozan led the team with 50 points, including 17 points in the fourth quarter and 10 more in overtime, to mark his second career 50-point performance and first in more than four years. Reggie Jackson topped the Clippers with 34 points.

The Bulls now look forward to a big challenge over the next three games as they take on three teams ahead of them in the Eastern Conference: the Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics – all within a five-day span. Their final week of the season will determine whether the Bulls get home court advantage or not in the first round of the playoffs.

Zach LaVine (knee) is probable for Saturday’s contest.

Heat vs Bulls Pick & Insights

Heat: Keys to Cover

The Heat own the third-ranked defense in the NBA at just 105.1 points against per game and we’ve seen them return to form during their current two-game win streak, allowing a stingy 99 points over that span. If Miami can just key in on DeRozan and LaVine and limit the damage from that duo, they should be able to contain Chicago and pick up the win.

Bulls: Keys to Cover

DeRozan has been on a tear of late, averaging 39.7 points over his last three outings. We probably won’t see another 50-point performance from DeRozan, but he’ll likely need to drop 35-plus if the Bulls are going to beat a strong Heat team.
