Heat Look To Extend Win Streak Vs Mavericks
The Miami Heat (5-1 SU, 5-1 ATS) will look to win their fifth straight game on Tuesday as they take on the Dallas Mavericks (4-2, 2-4) at American Airlines Center. Miami is 16-4 in its last 20 games against Dallas.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Mavericks come in as the slight 2-point favorites over the red-hot Heat. The total was set at 210 points with the UNDER going 6-0 in the Mavericks’ last six games.
Miami News & Notes
The Heat come into Tuesday’s contest on a four-game win streak with a 129-103 stomping of the Memphis Grizzlies in their last contest. Jimmy Butler led the scoring with 27 points while adding seven assists and five boards, and Tyler Herro dropped 22 points to go along with five assists and six rebounds.
Butler (25.3 points per game) has spearheaded Miami’s electric offense, which ranks third in the NBA at 114 points per game. Their league-best defense (97 points against per game) has been even stronger.
Victor Oladipo remains out indefinitely following knee surgery while Bam Adebayo (knee) is questionable for Tuesday.
Dallas News & Notes
The Mavericks got back in the win column in their last game, beating the Sacramento Kings 105-99. Luka Doncic dropped 23 points to go with 10 assists and eight rebounds. The all-star guard leads Dallas with 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 7.5 assists this season.
Kristaps Porzingis (back) is expected to miss his fourth consecutive game while Maxi Kleber (back) has also been ruled out for Tuesday’s clash with the Heat.
How Miami Will Cover
By all accounts, Miami has been one of the best teams in the league so far at both ends of the court. The Heat’s four-game win streak is tied for the longest active run in the NBA and with Butler and Herro firing on all cylinders, there’s no reason why they can’t extend that streak to five against the Mavericks.
How Dallas Will Cover
Dallas is 3-0 at home this season and its seventh-ranked defense (103 points against per game) will certainly present a test for Miami. Doncic always has the potential to pop off with 30-plus points and take over a game single-handedly. Adebayo (14 rebounds per game) is also a big loss for Miami, especially on the defensive end – Dallas will have to take advantage of that.
