Celts are Taking Care of Business Against Losing Teams
A sneaky good game on the NBA schedule today is this one between the Heat and Celtics. Both teams have won seven of their last 10 games and with a win, Boston will temporarily take over first place in the Eastern Conference. Isaiah Thomas and the Celtics have been killers on their home court all year and opened as the 5.5-point favorite in a battle with the re-kindled Heat.
To illustrate the difference in this Miami Heat team, take a look at their last matchup with the Celtics in December when they closed as 9.5-point dogs in Boston. They’ve come a long way since then and are now in a tight battle to get into the Eastern Conference playoffs with seven teams all within five games of each other from fifth to 11th place in the East.
The Celtics have won three straight games heading into the contest and with three more games in their current homestand, that streak could easily reach six. Boston is in an excellent position to take the first seed in the conference so expect the key role players for Brad Stevens to get heavy minutes in this one.
Hassan Whiteside is questionable for the game and he’s seemed unable to go, the Celtics are an absolute shoe-in.
