Heat vs Suns Picks & Odds: Miami Has Had Road Success Vs Phoenix
The Miami Heat (20-19 SU, 14-23-2 ATS) are 12-2 SU and ATS in their last 14 road games against the Phoenix Suns (20-19, 20-19). The Heat will try to keep that trend alive by cashing in as a small road favorite Friday night in the desert.

Inconsistency Has Plagued Miami All Season
The Heat lost to the Los Angeles Lakers 112-109 as 8.5-point road favorites on Wednesday night even though LeBron James and Anthony Davis were both out of the lineup for Los Angeles. Bam Adebayo recorded 30 points and 13 rebounds and Jimmy Butler scored 27 points in the loss, but no one else on the Heat scored over 12 points. Miami was 4-1 SU and ATS in the five games prior to Wednesday’s loss.
In the two games before facing the Lakers, Miami upset the Utah Jazz 126-123 as a 4.5-point underdog on the road and beat the Los Angeles Clippers 110-100 as a 1-point road favorite. The Heat have shown they are capable of playing at a high level this season, but duds like Wednesday’s game against the Lakers have contributed to the team’s underwhelming 14-23-2 ATS record.
Phoenix’s Offense Has Struggled Without Devin Booker
The Suns scored under 90 points for the second straight game Wednesday night in a 90-88 loss on the road against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Chris Paul led the team in scoring with 25 points and Deandre Ayton recorded 15 points and 18 rebounds in the loss. Phoenix covered the spread as a 5-point underdog to snap an 0-3 ATS losing streak but still fell to 0-4 SU over its last four games.
Devin Booker ranks 11th in the NBA in scoring with 27.1 points per game and has been out since Christmas Day with a groin injury. Phoenix’s offense has averaged only 94.3 points per game during the team’s four-game losing streak and is clearly missing its star shooting guard.
While things have been worse since Booker’s injury, the Suns were already struggling before Christmas as they enter Friday’s game with a 4-12 SU and 6-10 ATS record over their last 16 games.
Heat Player Prop: Jimmy Butler OVER 19.5 Points (-117)
Jimmy Butler is coming off a 27-point performance against the Lakers and has scored at least 20 points in eight of his last 10 games. Miami’s depth on offense makes it tough to predict who will go off on any given night, but Butler has averaged 21.5 points per game this season and is more likely than not to eclipse 20 against Phoenix.
Suns Player Prop: Chris Paul UNDER 8.5 Assists (+104)
Chris Paul is one of the all-time great passers in NBA history, but he has taken on a larger role as a shooter in Devin Booker’s absence. As a result, Paul has recorded eight assists or less in four of his last five games. Look for that trend to continue on Friday against the Heat.
Heat: Keys to Win
Miami is 7-1 SU and 5-2-1 ATS in its last eight games when scoring 110 points or more and 0-3 SU and ATS in its last three games with 109 points or less. The Heat may not need 110 points against this struggling Phoenix offense to win as a Heat vs Suns prediction, but they do need their offense to produce to take care of business.
Suns: Keys to Win
Without Devin Booker, the Suns don’t have the firepower to win a high-scoring game against a team as deep as Miami. It will be up to Phoenix’s defense and home crowd to get the Heat out of rhythm on offense in hopes of winning a low-scoring game as a Suns vs Heat pick in Phoenix.
