Milwaukee Hopes To Close Out Series in Atlanta Without Antetokounmpo
The Milwaukee Bucks are 2-0 SU and ATS in their last two games as a betting underdog since going 0-9 SU and ATS in their previous nine games as one. The Bucks hope to extend their winning streak as a dog to three wins and punch their ticket into the NBA Finals with a win over the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Hawks opened as 2-point home favorites and have moved up slightly to Atlanta -2.5. The total has seen a more significant move up to 216.5 points since Sportsbook at 215 points. The UNDER is 5-0 in Milwaukee’s last five road games against the Hawks.
Milwaukee News & Notes
The Bucks did not look like a team that was missing its best player in Thursday night’s 123-112 win over the Hawks in Game 5. Brook Lopez led the way in scoring with 33 points and was one of four Milwaukee players to record at least 22 points and six rebounds as Khris Middleton (26 points, 13 rebounds), Jrue Holiday (25 points, six rebounds) and Bobby Portis (22 points, eight rebounds) all did as well.
It was a great sign for Milwaukee’s chances on Saturday night that the team was able to score 123 points and win by double digits on a night that the offense shot just 31% from three-point range. With Giannis Antetokounmpo listed as doubtful to return for Game 6, the Bucks would love to win and let him rest instead of potentially forcing him to return early and play injured in Monday’s Game 7.
Atlanta News & Notes
Bogdan Bogdanovic has stepped up on offense to pick up some of the slack left behind due to Trae Young missing each of the last two games of the Eastern Conference Finals with an ankle injury. Bogdonavic scored 20 points in Game 5 and led the team with 28 points in Game 6 after averaging only 6.2 points per game over his previous six postseason games.
Young is listed as questionable to return in Game 6. This is the same status he has had for each of the last two games, both of which he was unable to play in despite warming up with the team during the pre-game. The 22-year-old was enjoying a brilliant postseason averaging 29.8 points and 9.5 assists per game before going down with this injury.
Betting Pick: Milwaukee +2.5
After shaking off the shock of losing Giannis Antetokounmpo in a blowout loss in Game 4, the Bucks had a much better plan of attack in what was a comfortable Game 5 victory. Look for more of the same in Game 6, unless Trae Young makes a surprise return to the lineup.
