Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Bucks opened as 1.5-point favorites on the road with the total set at 234.5 points. The UNDER is 6-2 in Charlotte’s last eight games. Milwaukee is 4-1 ATS in its last five road outings while Charlotte is 11-1 ATS in its last 12 games at home.

Milwaukee News & Notes

The Bucks fell 114-106 to the Hornets on Saturday in the opener of the two-game set in Charlotte. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 43 points and added 12 rebounds while Khris Middleton (27 points, 10 rebounds) and Bobby Portis (19 points, 13 rebounds) also had double-doubles in a losing effort. But no other player hit double digits for the Bucks and that lack of depth was ultimately their downfall in the contest.

Jrue Holiday (ankle) is out while Pat Connaughton, George Hill and Grayson Allen (health and safety protocols) are questionable for Monday. Donte DiVincenzo (ankle) is probable.

Charlotte News & Notes

The Hornets earned their second straight win on Saturday as they took the first meeting at Spectrum Center. Terry Rozier led Charlotte with 28 points, Miles Bridges scored 21 and LaMelo Ball finished with 19 points, nine boards and eight assists.

Rozier has been hot from beyond the arc of late – he went 6-for-10 on Saturday and has made 36 treys over his last eight games while shooting a sizzling 49.3 percent from long range over that span. The shooting guard is averaging 17.8 points per game this season but that number is up to 22.1 over his last eight outings.

Vernon Carey Jr. and Scottie Lewis (health and safety protocols) are listed as probable for Monday.

How Milwaukee Will Cover

The Bucks boast the NBA’s third-best offense, scoring 112.1 points per game, and they’ll be going up against the league’s worst defense as Charlotte is allowing 116.3 points per contest. Though Milwaukee lost Saturday, the Bucks have owned Charlotte in recent years, with a 7-3 record over the last 10 meetings. If Antetokounmpo can get more offensive support from someone like Jordan Nwora, who scored just three points on Saturday, then the Bucks should be just fine.

How Charlotte Will Cover

With Holiday out, Charlotte really only has to focus on Antetokounmpo and Middleton. While the duo did plenty of damage Saturday, the Hornets were fortunate that the rest of the Bucks were ice-cold. Milwaukee will likely bring a bit more punch on Monday, especially with a few more bodies potentially returning to the lineup. That said, if the Hornets can limit the Bucks to under 110 points, you’ve got to like their chances.
