Antetokounmpo, Holiday Score 30-Plus In Bucks Win
The Bucks won their third straight contest on Wednesday as they defeated the Sacramento Kings 126-113. Giannis Antetokounmpo (35 points) and Jrue Holiday (31 points) had dominating performances for Milwaukee while Domantas Sabonis (23 points, 12 rebounds) was Sacramento’s top scorer.
Khris Middleton is averaging just 12 points per game in his three contests since making his season debut on December 2, but his presence has helped the Bucks go undefeated over that span. While Middleton is still finding his rhythm, he’s given Milwaukee yet another legit scoring option, with the Bucks now up to six players averaging double digits this year.
Mavericks Eke Out Third Straight Victory
The Mavericks edged out the Denver Nuggets 116-115 on Tuesday to earn their third consecutive victory. Tim Hardaway Jr. had 29 points to lead the Mavs while Luka Doncic (22 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds) posted a triple-double. Aaron Gordon had 27 points to top the Nuggets while the Mavericks held Nikola Jokic to 19 points.
After struggling through most of November, the Mavericks have won four of their last five games thanks to a suddenly surging offense that’s averaging 121.6 points per contest over that span. Doncic has unsurprisingly led the Mavs in scoring in 19 of their 24 games, but some strong performances from Spencer Dinwiddie and Hardaway have bolstered Dallas’ offense in recent weeks.
Bucks Player Prop: Antetokounmpo OVER 33 Points (+118)
Antetokounmpo (32.1 points per game) comes into this matchup as the NBA’s second-leading scorer, behind only – you guessed it – Doncic (32.9 points per game). The Bucks star has scored 30-plus in eight straight outings and more than 33 in seven of those games. Thirty-three points is a tall task against a stingy Dallas defense but Antetokounmpo is red-hot and hard to bet against right now.
Mavericks Player Prop: Doncic OVER 33 Points (+108)
Doncic had a quiet night on Tuesday with just 22 points but the Mavericks star has been just about as hot as Antetokounmpo, averaging 30 points per game in December and 32 in November. Milwaukee’s third-ranked defense has been just a hair better than Dallas’ so it’ll be interesting to see which star comes out on top.
Bucks: Keys To Victory
Outside of the obvious head-to-head battle between Antetokounmpo and Doncic, this game could very well be decided by Milwaukee’s depth. Players like Middleton, Holiday and Brook Lopez can be key difference-makers and give Milwaukee a big boost over the depth pieces on Dallas.
Mavericks: Keys To Victory
The Mavericks haven’t given Doncic much help offensively this season, but that trend has changed of late with Hardaway and Dinwiddie boosting their outputs – Hardaway in particular has been hot with 25 points per game in December. If the small forward can keep that up, he and Doncic could give the Bucks a real challenge.
