Bucks Have Topped Pistons Three Times in Eight Weeks
The Milwaukee Bucks and Detroit Pistons will play their fourth and final game of the season tonight at Little Sportsbook Arena. The Pistons will be looking to avoid a season sweep as they are 0-3 SU and 0-2-1 ATS through the first three meetings of the season series. Milwaukee is a 7-point road favorite with the total at 218.
Milwaukee Has Not Lost Consecutive Games This Season
The Bucks are 35-13 SU this season, good for first place in the Eastern Conference – none of those losses came in back-to-back games.
After losing the opener of a five-game road trip on Sunday in Oklahoma City, history says they will be the winning side tonight. In the 12 games after a loss, they’re winning games by an average of 14.8 points.
Milwaukee is 12-3 SU and 9-5-1 ATS in its last 15 games with an average point differential of 12.0. Included in that run is a 23-point win over the Pistons on New Year’s Day when they easily covered the 10-point spread.
Pistons Are Among the NBA’s Worst Shooters
You don’t find yourselves with the No. 24 scoring offense without some poor shooting performances. Well, that’s exactly what’s happening with Dwane Casey’s Detroit Pistons. They are shooting 43.3 percent from the floor (29th) and 33.2 percent from beyond the arc (also 29th).
In January, Detroit is on pace with its season two-point shooting average while marginally better at three-point shooting at 35 percent. Meanwhile, the Pistons have a -4.6 point differential in 2019.
On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, Milwaukee has the No. 5 field-goal percentage in January at 49.6 percent as the Bucks are having their best month of the season in that category.
Under is Trending in This Matchup
The total has gone UNDER in the last four games of this matchup, with an average combined score of 208.5, and in five of the last six games in this matchup at Detroit.
Meanwhile, the total has gone UNDER in eight of Milwaukee’s last 10 games and in eight of Detroit’s last 10 games, too.
My Pick for This Game
I’m going with the Bucks -7. Not only is Milwaukee the best team in the standings in the East, they’re one of the best bets in basketball at 26-19-3 ATS. Additionally, the Bucks are 6-2-1 ATS in their last nine games as a road favorite of 7.0 or higher.
To further support this argument, the Pistons have lost their last four games against divisional opponents by an average of 21.5 points.
