NBA Win Total Props

When the NBA season was suspended back on March 12, part of the dread for both sportsbooks and bettors was knowing their regular-season win totals wagers were likely voided. Well, the online shop is offering another kick at the can for these props and we’ve got the projected OVER/UNDER win total betting lines for all 22 teams heading to Orlando.

For example, with eight regular-season games remaining for each team, the teams with the highest O/U win total lines are the Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers at 5.5 while the Washington Wizards have the lowest projected win total at 1.5.

Here are the betting odds for all 22 NBA teams playing in the Orlando bubble in July/August:

Will Any Team Go 8-0 Or 0-8?

With NBA playoff seeding at stake and some squads already locked into their postseason slot, there are prop-ortunities (trademarked, don’t even think about taking it) for bettors looking to take advantage of desperate teams or ones just looking to mail it in till the playoffs.

You can wager on one of the 22 teams to go 8-0 SU in their remaining games and if you bet that a franchise pulls this off, it’s paying out at +375.

Conversely, if you think a team like the Spurs (without LaMarcus Aldridge) or Washington Wizards (without Bradley Beal and with the worst record among the 22 teams) will fall short and go 0-8 SU, it pays +300.

Lakers and Bucks Exact Win Totals

The two teams that are projected to make the NBA Finals, based on NBA futures odds, are the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks. Each team leads the standings in its conference and will play eight regular-season games before postseason play begins.

But what’s interesting about their listed win totals is sportsbooks are projecting each of them to only win exactly six of the eight games, with the Lakers listed at +150 to get six wins and the Bucks at +140. If you think they will stand pat and potentially lose all eight of their remaining games (which would be a disaster), you can get odds of +30000 for the Lakers and +40000 for the Bucks.

Here are the exact remaining NBA season win totals for both the Lakers and Bucks heading into Orlando:

Will There Be a Play-In Tournament?

A play-in tournament for the eighth seed in the NBA playoffs had been discussed and on the table for years and, finally, we may see this idea come to fruition in Orlando.

In the Eastern Conference, the steam is picking up on whether a play-in tourney will happen because the Wizards would only need to gain two games on a team like the Nets – who will be vastly undermanned with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Taurean Prince and Spencer Dinwiddie ruled out – to force a play-in.

In the Western Conference, the play-in tournament was designed to set up a showdown between the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans or even the Portland Trail Blazers and it looks like that could be in the works. The West has -800 odds to have a play-in tourney while the East is +400.

Which Team Gets the 8 Seed?

In addition to the play-in tournament prop, the eighth seed is much more coveted in 2020 compared to previous postseasons because there’s the belief that 1 seeds may be more vulnerable than ever.

The extenuating circumstances of having to play in the Orlando bubble along with the potential for some key players to excuse themselves from playing altogether has opened the door to a range of possibilities.

In the East, the favorite to get the 8 seed is the Brooklyn Nets at -250 while the Memphis Grizzlies are -115 faves in the West but will be trying to fend off five teams on their heels compared to Brooklyn only dealing with two.

Exotic Props

Aside from win totals, there are also some very interesting betting props when it comes to the actual games and seeding. Some of these props include most points scored by any team after the restart, the number of seed changes, or if a player tops 55 points in a game while in Orlando.

More props will likely be added as we get closer to the to the restart of the season so keep this page bookmarked as it will be updated daily with fresh odds and additional betting options.

Understanding NBA Restart Prop Odds

When you check out your sportsbook of choice for NBA betting props like how many seed changes from current seeding, you’ll see prop odds that look something like this:

OVER 5.5 -115

UNDER 5.5 -115

To bet on these odds, you would be making a prop bet – more on that in a bit. In this case, there isn't a clear favorite and is similar to a spread bet. When you see similar odds with a minus sign (-) beside them, that’s because oddsmakers have determined that each option has nearly an equal amount of probability of happening.

If you think there will more than five seed changes by the time NBA playoffs start, and you bet $100 on it, you’d get a payout of $189.96 – you get your $100 back along with your winnings of $89.96.

Our Odds Calculator will show you how much you’d win based on the odds and amount bet.

What is a Prop Bet?

A prop is a bet on the occurrence or non-occurrence of certain outcomes that may not necessarily determine the outcome of the NBA season. You can make a bet like this as soon as the odds are announced. Oddsmakers will move the lines as news comes out and if you see odds you like, place your bet immediately, otherwise the action could move so much that you’ll barely make a profit or maybe even not make one at all.
