Westbrook's Dominance Continues to Propel Thunder to Covers
The Memphis Grizzlies have been a great home bet in the 2016-17 campaign and a brutal play on the road. The Grizzles, who are playing in the second half of a back-to-back set after falling to the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday, will return to the comforts of the FedExForum when they welcome the Oklahoma City Thunder to town tonight.
The Grizz will have their hands full against the unstoppable Russell Westbrook, though. Fresh off picking up his 41st triple-double of the season in Tuesday’s 110-79 rout of the Milwaukee Bucks, Westbrook is now tied with Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson for the most triple-doubles in a campaign. The point guard finished with 12 points, 13 rebounds and 13 assists in the contest as he tied Wilt Chamberlain (78) for the fourth-most career triple-doubles in NBA history.
Memphis received only 44 points from its starters in the setback to the Spurs, who they will likely face in the first round of the playoffs. The Grizzlies did get Marc Gasol back from injury, though. He returned from a five-game layoff to produce 11 points, seven assists and six boards.
Westbrook has dominated the Grizzlies this season, averaging 27.7 points, 10.3 boards and eight assists in three meetings with Memphis in 2016-17.
