Philadelphia News & Notes

The 76ers got back into the win column on Monday with a 102-94 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Tyrese Maxey led the team with 24 points while Shake Milton and Matisse Thybulle scored 16 and 15, respectively.

Since Joel Embiid left the lineup on November 8, Maxey has emerged as a legitimate offensive weapon, averaging 24.3 points per game. However, the 76ers have gone just 2-6 over that span without their top scorer.

Embiid (COVID-19) remains out indefinitely while Tobias Harris (hip), Seth Curry (back) and Danny Green (hamstring) are questionable for Wednesday’s contest.

Golden State News & Notes

The Warriors rolled to another easy win on Sunday as they topped the Raptors 119-104. Jordan Poole led all scorers with 33 points and Andrew Wiggins was close behind with 32. Steph Curry had a quiet night with just 12 points and eight assists.

Poole has taken a significant step this season, now up to 18.4 points per game. Golden State’s 2019 first-round pick has scored over 30 points in two straight contests, providing even more offensive support for the already high-powered Warriors.

Andre Iguodala (knee) is out for Wednesday while Gary Payton II (abdomen) is probable.

How Philadelphia Will Cover

While the 76ers are certainly a big underdog in this matchup, it’s rare that they get blown out by 10-plus points. In fact, they’ve only lost by 10 or more in two of their eight defeats this season. Maxey will likely have to have another big game to keep it close, but we’ve seen that he’s more than capable.

How Golden State Will Cover

It’s hard to bet against the Warriors, who own the NBA’s top-ranked offense and defense. And while the 76ers haven’t been blown out often, the Warriors have made a habit of beating teams by wide margins, cruising to wins of 10-plus points in 11 of their 15 victories this season, including 10 of their last 11.
