Clippers Look to Continue Home Dominance Over Phoenix in Game 4
The Los Angeles Clippers improved to 14-1 SU in their last 15 home games against the Phoenix Suns with Thursday night’s 106-92 win in Game 3. The Clippers can even up the series at two games apiece with another win this Saturday night over the Suns in Los Angeles.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Suns opened as a 1.5-point road favorite before moving down slightly to Phoenix -1. The total for Game 4 has settled in at 218.5 points after Sportsbook at 220 points. The Clippers are 6-1 ATS over their last seven games.
Phoenix News & Notes
The Suns carried a 9-0 SU and 8-1 ATS record over their previous nine games into Thursday night’s 106-92 loss to the Clippers. Devin Booker went just 5-for-21 from the floor and 1-for-7 from three-point range in the loss to score a playoff-low 15 points. Chris Paul struggled in his return to action from COVID-19 protocols and Cameron Payne went down with an ankle injury after only four minutes of play.
All told, it was an off-night across the board for the Suns, who should be happy to just put Game 3 behind them and try to get back on track on Saturday. Payne has been upgraded to probable to return to the lineup in Game 4, and the team as a whole isn’t likely to have a shooting night as bad as Thursday’s again. Phoenix is 9-3 SU and 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games coming off of a loss.
Los Angeles News & Notes
The Clippers trailed Game 3 by a score of 48-46 at the half before Sportsbook up a commanding lead with a 34-21 third quarter. Paul George had an outstanding game with 27 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists and got help cleaning up the boards from Ivica Zubac who had 15 points and 16 rebounds in the win. With Kawhi Leonard still out indefinitely with a knee injury, the Clippers need this version of George for the rest of the series to have a shot at advancing to the NBA Finals.
Los Angeles could erase an 0-2 series deficit for the third straight time this postseason with a win in Game 4. The Clippers allowed 120 points in Game 1, 104 points in Game 2 and 92 points in Game 3. This is a trend that Los Angeles hopes will continue as getting into shootouts without Leonard in the lineup is not a recipe for success.
Betting Pick: Los Angeles +1
This Suns won the first two games in this series by a combined seven points. This has been a hard-fought series that feels destined for six or seven games, and the Clippers getting another win at home on Saturday would fit the bill.
