Suns Lose To Magic Without Paul

The Suns dropped their last game in disappointing fashion, falling 114-97 to the lowly Orlando Magic on Friday. Cameron Payne (22 points) led Phoenix as one of just three Suns to hit double digits, while Wendell Carter Jr. topped the Magic with 20 points and five others scored more than 10 for Orlando in the win.

Chris Paul missed his second consecutive game Friday as the veteran point guard sat out with a sore heel. The 37-year-old has had a sluggish start to the season, averaging just 9.5 points and 9.4 assists per game – down from 14.7 points and 10.8 assists last year. Outside of Paul, who is listed as questionable for Monday’s matchup, the Suns will be without Cameron Johnson (knee).

Heat Run Up The Score Against Hornets

The Heat earned their second straight win over the Charlotte Hornets on Saturday, cruising to a 132-115 victory on home court. Max Strus led all scorers with 31 points while both Bam Adebayo (24 points, 15 rebounds) and Kyle Lowry (12 points, 11 rebounds) recorded double-doubles for Miami. Terry Rozier had 22 points to top Charlotte.

Miami has had a slow start offensively this year, scoring just 110.5 points per game, tied for 20th in the NBA. A couple of wins over the struggling Hornets may have helped their confidence, though, as the Heat piled up 249 points through two games. Their 132 points on Saturday marked a season high and perhaps something to build on moving forward.

Suns: Keys To Win

The Suns could be without Paul once again but they should have enough firepower in the lineup with their top two scorers, Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges, good to go. Phoenix also owns the NBA’s top defense this season, allowing just 105.5 points per game – something that Miami’s middling offense may not be able to overcome.

Heat: Keys To Win

The Heat have benefited from some strong individual performances over their last couple of wins, including a 35-point performance from Jimmy Butler on Thursday and 31 points from Strus on Saturday. If they’re going to keep up with Booker and the Suns, the Heat will likely need someone to step up with 30-plus points again.
