Suns vs Pelicans Odds & Analysis
Sportsbook Odds
The Suns opened as a 4.5-point road favorite over the Pelicans with the total set at 225 points. The OVER is 5-0 in the last five meetings at Smoothie King Center while the Suns are 5-2 in the last seven meetings overall. Phoenix is still without star point guard Chris Paul but that shouldn’t stop the team from being the clear favorite in any Suns vs Pelicans prediction.

Suns Rout Lakers Thanks To Big First Quarter
Phoenix coasted to a 140-111 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday thanks to a massive 48-point first quarter, their highest-scoring frame of the season. Devin Booker led the Suns with 30 points and added 10 assists for a double-double, while Deandre Ayton had a double-double of his own with 23 points and 16 boards.
Despite a hiccup or two after the all-star break, the Suns are looking more like themselves even without Paul, who remains out for at least another few weeks with a fractured thumb. With three of their next four games against basement teams, Phoenix should be able to continue building momentum and more or less seal its position as the NBA’s top team going into the playoffs.
Cameron Johnson (quadriceps) is questionable for Tuesday’s game.
Valanciunas Helps Depleted Pelicans Snap Four-Game Skid
The Pelicans halted a four-game slump on Sunday as they beat the Houston Rockets 130-105. Jonas Valanciunas scored 32 points and added 10 rebounds to lead New Orleans to victory, while five others scored in double digits for the Pelicans.
The Pelicans come into this matchup looking pretty depleted: CJ McCollum has been in COVID-19 protocols for nearly a week and is questionable for Tuesday’s matchup while the team’s leading scorer, Brandon Ingram, is out with a strained hamstring.
Sitting 10th in the Western Conference, New Orleans will be hoping to get back to full strength relatively soon in order to secure its spot for the play-in tournament.
Suns vs Pelicans Pick & Insights
Suns: Keys To Cover
The Suns’ depth was on display in their big win over the Lakers and you can expect to see the same thing on Tuesday. Phoenix’s sixth-ranked defense (106.1 points against per game) should also have its way with a weak New Orleans offense that’s averaging just 108.2 points per contest.
Pelicans: Keys To Cover
If there’s a bright side for the Pelicans in this matchup, it’s that they beat the Suns just a few weeks ago in their last meeting on February 25 – and handily at that, winning 117-102. The not-so-bright side, of course, is that Ingram and McCollum led the team in scoring that night, and they’ll have half of that duo at best on Tuesday. If McCollum does play, he’ll likely need to pop off for 35 or 40 to keep this one competitive.
