Pacers meet Spurs in top matchup

Two of the hottest teams in the NBA will hit the hardwood together down in Texas on Saturday night as Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs play host to the Indiana Pacers.

Indiana last beat San Antonio back in April 2007, going 0-11 SU and 4-7 ATS in their 11 meetings since that contest. Last season the Pacers were 0-2 both SU and ATS against the Spurs, with the OVER/UNDER splitting at 1-1 for totals bettors.

San Antonio battles the Pacers, currently with a 17-2 mark (14-5 ATS). The OVER/UNDER records, important for totals bettors, are 10-8 for the Spurs and 6-13 for the Pacers. (Note: follow us on Twitter for line updates and injuries news).

The visitors opened this morning as 4.5-point underdogs in this one at most sportsbooks tracked at Odds Shark (including Sportsbook), while the total was hovering around 188 at Sportsbook and other shops.

The Power Rankings at Odds Shark have the No. 4-rated Pacers taking on the No. 3-rated Spurs in this contest. Computer models indicate a possible 99-97 win for the Spurs on Saturday.

Last time out for Indiana, they were a 95-86 Sportsbook as they battled the Jazz on the road. The Pacers covered in the match as an 8.5-point favorite, while 181 combined points moved the game UNDER for totals bettors. Paul George scored 19 points leading the Pacers to a 95-86 victory over Utah at EnergySolutions Arena on Wednesday.

In their last action, San Antonio was a 102-100 Sportsbook at home against the Hawks. They failed to cover the 12-point spread as favorites, while the combined score (202) was profitable news for OVER bettors. Tim Duncan scored 23 points and added 21 rebounds for a double-double, leading San Antonio over Atlanta, 102-100, on Monday at AT&T Center.
