Streaking Nuggets Aim For Fifth Straight Win Vs Trail Blazers
The Denver Nuggets (8-4, 6-6 ATS) host the Portland Trail Blazers (6-7, 5-8) on Sunday as they look for their fifth straight win. The Nuggets are 6-1 at home this season while the Trail Blazers are 1-6 on the road.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The streaking Nuggets come in as 4-point home favorites with the total set at 217 points. The OVER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams while Portland is 1-8 ATS in their last nine road games.
Portland News & Notes
The Trail Blazers have bounced around .500 this season, never managing to win more than two consecutive contests. They did, however, pick up a 104-92 win over the Houston Rockets in their last outing on Friday thanks to a well-rounded offensive performance. Damian Lillard led the scoring with 20 points, seven assists, and six rebounds while CJ McCollum (17 points), Nassir Little (13 points), and Jusuf Nurkic (12 points) each chipped in with double-digit totals.
Despite playing just a couple nights ago, Lillard (abdominal) has been ruled out for Sunday’s contest.
Denver News & Notes
The Nuggets have been one of the NBA’s hottest teams of late, rattling off four straight wins including a 105-96 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday. Aaron Gordon led Denver with 23 points while reigning MVP, Nikola Jokic, had a monster triple-double performance with 22 points, 19 boards, and 10 assists.
Jokic has been just as good as last season if not better, averaging 25.1 points, 6.1 assists, and a whopping 14.1 rebounds through 11 contests to lead the Nuggets to an impressive 8-4 start.

How Portland Will Cover
It will be no easy feat against the NBA’s top defense, but Portland does boast a strong attack, averaging 109.6 points per game (11th in the league). The Trail Blazers have scored at least 100 points in their last 10 outings, and they’ll likely need to manage at least that to take down the streaking Nuggets.
It’ll be tough without Lillard, but McCollum has shown the ability to carry the offense on his own with a season-high 34 points coming on October 20.
How Denver Will Cover
The Nuggets have been a force defensively this season, holding their opponents to just 98.3 points per game – tops in the NBA. In fact, they’ve allowed 100 points or more just three times in 12 games. Portland’s offense took a big blow with the loss of Lillard for Sunday’s meeting, which should make things that much easier for Denver.
