Nets Look to Keep Rolling vs Woeful Kings
The Brooklyn Nets are finally starting to look like a team that can make a run to the NBA Finals – and that’s very bad news for their Tuesday night opponent. The Nets (20-12 SU, 16-16 ATS) carry a season-high six-game winning streak into their encounter with a visiting Sacramento Kings team (12-18 SU, 13-17 ATS) that comes in having lost seven consecutive contests.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Nets opened the proceedings as 8-point favorites – and that’s where they remain in most spots, though you’ll find the odd -7.5 out there. The total hasn’t budged after Sportsbook at a sky-high 242.
Sacramento News & Notes
It’s hard to believe that the Kings recently reeled off a four-game winning streak that included wins over Boston, Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers. Sacramento has looked nothing like a Western Conference playoff contender of late, losing each of its last seven games by at least eight points while surrendering an average of 124.3 points over that stretch.
With the Kings expected to be without starting small forward Harrison Barnes (foot) again Tuesday, look for them to lean heavily on rookie standout Tyrese Haliburton. He’s averaging 12.8 points and 5.3 assists for the season and is up to 15.5/5.1 in 31.3 minutes per game for the month of February, putting him squarely in the daily fantasy chalk category at a low price point.
Brooklyn News & Notes
The scary part of the Nets’ current hot streak is how dominant they’ve looked without Kevin Durant in the lineup. As he prepares to miss his fourth consecutive game with a strained hamstring, Brooklyn hasn’t missed a beat in his absence, capping a perfect five-game West Coast road swing with an impressive 112-108 victory over the Kawhi Leonard-led Clippers.
As you might expect, James Harden and Kyrie Irving have been the linchpins of Brooklyn’s run to the top of the conference standings. Harden is averaging 25.5 points, 11.2 assists and 8.8 rebounds in February and should be in your daily fantasy lineups regardless of salary. Irving is at 27.9 ppg for the month but doesn’t offer enough in peripheral stats to justify his salary.
Betting Pick: Nets -8 (-110)
Sacramento hasn’t finished within eight points of an opponent in more than two weeks – and isn’t a good bet to end that streak Tuesday against a Brooklyn club playing the best basketball in the league.
