Expert Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder ATS -3.5 (-108), ML (-162)

Don't hold your breath if you're expecting both squads to be suiting up their key rotation players here, as it appears a number of big names will be held out for this contest.

Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault announced on Sunday that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Lu Dort will be unavailable, with both guards coming off a stint with Canada's men's national basketball team in Paris, France for the 2024 Olympic Games. Kenrich Williams and Jaylin Williams will both be out due to injury, as well.

The Spurs will also have a laundry list of absentees, with reigning Rookie of the Year Victor Wembanyama, Chris Paul, Devin Vassell, Charles Bassey, Zach Collins, and David Duke Jr. all ruled out.

The likes of Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso, and Isaiah Hartenstein are believed to be competing as of writing, so we'll have to take that at face value and believe they'll be out there on the hardwood. If that's indeed the case, and with San Antonio missing a significant chunk of rotational talent, even on the road, the value leans heavily towards the side of Oklahoma City.

Expert Pick: UNDER 221 Total Points (-110)

This is more of a logic bet than anything else, considering the names not participating and the uncertainty surrounding the minutes being allocated to those who do.

For the four preseason games which took place across October 4-5, only one toppled an OVER/UNDER total of 221 points, while none of the other three came anywhere close to the number. That trend should carry forth here.
