Another fantastic day of Copa América 2024 action kicks off on Thursday as hosts USA take on Panama, while Uruguay battle Bolivia.
After we swept our Copa América expert picks yesterday, let's explore all the odds for today's matches and our best bets.
Panama vs. USA Copa América Odds
Team | Moneyline | Draw | Total | Spread |
---|---|---|---|---|
Panama | +738 | +375 | Over 2.5 Goals (-109) | +1.25 (-110) |
USA | -236 | +375 | Under 2.5 Goals (-101) | -1.25 (+102) |
Odds as of June 27
Nick Holz's Pick: USA -1.25 (+102)
After Christian Pulisic scored a worldie in the third minute, Folarin Balogun finished off the Bolivians on Matchday 1.
The USMNT looked great firing 20 shots, with 8 on target and registering 61% of possession. They were unlucky not to add to their tally in the second half. I expect more of the same on Thursday night in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as the USA hold a 17 win, 2 loss, 7 draws record all-time against Panama.
Michel Anderson's Pick: Over 2.5 Goals (-109)
I know we've only seen OVER 2.5 goals four times in 12 Copa games (33%) so far, but this matchup seems like it's got goals in it. Panama's first game of the Copa was a 3-1 loss to Uruguay so they've already been involved in one of the few goal fests in this tourney. Since 2023, Panama has gone 7-5 (58%) against the OVER 2.5 goals line.
The US only scored two goals against Bolivia but with 2.5 xG it should have been more. Since 2023, the US is 9-6 (60%) for OVER 2.5 goals. The winner of this group might very well come down to goal difference, so the US has the motivation to pop in a ton of balls into Panama's net.
Uruguay vs. Bolivia Copa América Odds
Team | Moneyline | Draw | Total | Spread |
---|---|---|---|---|
Uruguay | -513 | +635 | Over 2.75 Goals (-111) | -1.75 (-118) |
Bolivia | +1484 | +635 | Under 2.75 Goals (-101) | +1.75 (+107) |
Odds as of June 27
Michel Anderson's Pick: Over Goals 2.5 (-148)
Uruguay has only faced Bolivia once with Marcelo Bielsa in charge. That game ended in a 3-0 win for La Celeste as they held nearly 70% of possession, 82% of the shots, and saw a Darwin Nunez brace. It was one-way traffic and poor Bolivia got trampled.
In the last 10 meetings between these two sides, the total has gone OVER 2.5 goals eight times! The two times it didn't go over, Bolivia had the advantage of playing on their home field high up in the sky. They don't have that advantage today with the game set at MetLife Stadium.
Nick Holz's Pick: Uruguay 1st Half Moneyline (-162)
Uruguay have banged in at least one first-half goal in four of their past five games. That stretch includes a 3-0 win over Bolivia in November when Darwin Nunez scored an early goal and an own goal led to a two-goal lead at the half.
Plus, Pulisic's early goal gave the USA a lead in the third minute on Matchday 1. Expect Uruguay's aggressive press to cause real problems early for a less-than-stellar Bolivian backline.
