Ribas vs Barber Preview: Who Will Win?
These two ladies are more evenly matched than people might think.
How Barber Wins
Barber has tons of experience for a 25-year-old. She began on Dana White's Contender Series and started her UFC career with three straight stoppage victories. Since then, things have quieted down, but "The Future" is still a top-notch flyweight.
She's big for the weight class and packs a good punch with her straights and hooks. Ribas has a breakable chin, so I'll watch for Barber to win the way she attacked J.J. Aldrich back in 2019: come out firing and don't stop, even as your opponent tries to clinch or wrestle.
How Ribas Wins
The happy-go-lucky Brazilian has lost two of her last four but bounced back nicely vs Viviane Araujo at UFC 285. Ribas is a bit of a spazz on the feet, but once she settles in, things tend to go well for her.
She wins this fight by staying calm and allowing the striking to set up her wrestling. If she finds a rhythm with her punches moving forward, she can keep Barber on the defensive. From there, it's a takedown and control time.
Amanda Ribas vs maycee Barber Pick
I'll take Ribas to win. Grab her by decision for more value.
