Brooklyn Falls In Blowout Loss To Sacramento

The Nets suffered their second straight loss on Tuesday, falling to the Sacramento Kings 153-121, with the 153 points marking the most ever allowed by Brooklyn in a regulation game. Terence Davis led Sacramento with 31 and six other Kings scored in double digits. Kevin Durant (27 points) was the only player to put up 20-plus for the Nets, who were without Kyrie Irving for the seventh straight game.

Irving, who was suspended by the team for a minimum of five games, has been absent from the lineup since November 1, but likely won’t return to action until Sunday at the earliest. The Nets have spread out the workload in Irving’s absence and have managed to stay above water, going 4-3 without their star point guard.

Trail Blazers Get Back Into Win Column Against Spurs

After losing to the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday, Portland got right back into the win column on Tuesday, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 117-110. Jerami Grant had 29 points to lead the Trail Blazers while Damian Lillard posted 22 points and 11 assists for a double-double. Jakob Poeltl (31 points, 14 rebounds) had a huge night for the Spurs.

Portland’s offense has been pretty mediocre this season at just 109.9 points per game (23rd), but the team’s defense has made up the difference, ranking sixth in the NBA (107.6 points against per game). The Trail Blazers have allowed just 101.8 points per game through their last four victories – a mark that would have them ranked as the best defensive team in the NBA.

Nets Player Prop: Durant OVER 33 Points (+108)

Durant will likely need to have a huge game to keep the Nets in this one and the oddsmakers know that. The power forward has cooled off in November, though, and hasn’t scored more than 32 points since Halloween night.

Trail Blazers Player Prop: Grant OVER 23 Points (+119)

Grant has emerged as a key scorer for the Trail Blazers this season, averaging 21.3 points per game. He’s been on fire in November, scoring 26 points per contest while only failing to hit 23 in one of seven games. Grant is scorching right now and should easily clear the OVER on 23 points.

Nets: Keys To Victory

Durant will obviously be a key player for the Nets but he probably won’t be able to will his team to victory on his own. Can Nic Claxton, Seth Curry and others step up and help Durant put up some points? They’ll have to if Brooklyn is going to come out on top.

Trail Blazers: Keys To Victory

The Trail Blazers have a lot going for them right now and that’s why they’ve been so successful early this season. For starters, they’ve got three players (Lillard, Anfernee Simons, Grant) scoring 20-plus points per game. They’re also one of the premier defensive teams in the NBA and should be able to shut down anyone on the Nets outside of Durant. For those reasons, Portland should cruise to another win.
