Bucks Drop Second Straight Against Mavericks

The Bucks lost their second consecutive game on Sunday as they fell 118-112 to the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Doncic was dominant for Dallas with 32 points and 15 assists while Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with his own double-double, scoring 28 points and adding 10 rebounds.

Tuesday’s contest will provide the Bucks a good chance to rebuild some momentum after hitting a bit of a bump down the stretch. They are 3-0 against Chicago and will look to sweep the season series against a team that they’ve historically been dominant against. The Bucks sit third in the East right now and, based on how tight the standings are, it’s not unlikely that they end up playing the fifth-place Bulls in the first round of the playoffs.

Antetokounmpo (knee) is probable for Tuesday’s matchup.

Bulls Lose To Conference Front-Runners

The Bulls fell 127-109 to the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat in their last contest on Saturday. Zach LaVine (33 points) and DeMar DeRozan (26 points) each had strong games for Chicago but a deep Miami team boasted seven double-digit scorers, led by Jimmy Butler with 22 points.

Chicago has put together a decent season all things considered but has struggled against top competition, going a combined 2-19 against the top four teams in both conferences. That’s not a great trend going into the playoffs where the Bulls will likely face a strong team in either Milwaukee or the Philadelphia 76ers.

LaVine (knee) is probable for Tuesday, while Lonzo Ball (knee) is set to ramp up running drills in his attempt to return for the playoffs.

Bucks vs Bulls Pick & Insights

Bucks: Keys To Cover

Milwaukee has slipped a bit defensively of late, surrendering 126.6 points per game over its last five outings. The Bucks have historically been very strong in their own half against the Bulls over the past few seasons, though, giving up just 102.8 points per game in the last 10 meetings. If the Bucks play the Bulls as well as they normally do, it’ll be smooth sailing.

Bulls: Keys To Cover

The Bulls got great performances from their top dogs in Saturday’s loss but still got routed by the Heat due to some porous defense. Prior to their last two contests, when they’ve given up 128.5 points per game, the Bulls had allowed just 100.3 points over their previous three. It’ll be hard to hold Milwaukee to such a low number, but Chicago will have to bear down defensively to stay in this one.
