The NBA schedule for Thursday, December 5 is comprised of eight games featuring 16 teams, so there's greater opportunity in the player props market as opposed to last night with a slightly more limited slate.
Here are three player props picks for your consideration, including a 3-point prop for Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant at +100 betting odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook against the visiting Sacramento Kings.
Ja Morant OVER 1.5 Made 3-Pointers vs. Kings (+100)
Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Memphis Grizzlies, 8 p.m. ET
Sacramento is the worst at defending the 3-point line outside of the Atlanta Hawks, ranking 29th in opponent's 3-pointers made (15.1), 28th in opponent's 3-pointers allowed (39.7), and 29th in opponent's 3-point efficiency (38.1 percent). Memphis is a middle-of-the-pack team connecting from deep, and Morant isn't exactly Stephen Curry shooting 29.4 percent from the perimeter, but there's still a lot to like taking the OVER here.
Morant has made two or more triples in each of his last two games, and has nailed the OVER on 1.5 makes in exactly half of his 12 appearances this season, with four OVERs in his last five outings.
He's attempting a healthy 5.6 attempts over the last three games, as well, and Sacramento's weak perimeter defense should provide some cleaner looks than usual to keep his personal streak going.
P.J. Washington OVER 13.5 Points vs. Wizards (-102)
Preview: Dallas Mavericks vs. Washington Wizards, 7 p.m. ET
The irony of wagering on P.J. Washington against Washington isn't lost on me, but it's the correct play to make considering his recent production paired with the Wizards allowing 122.8 points to opponents at Capitol One Arena.
The 26-year-old forward is averaging 16.9 points over his last nine games, shooting 50 percent from the field and 54.9 percent from 3-point while hitting the OVER on 13.5 points in seven of those nine outings.
He's also one of just three Dallas Mavericks players playing more than 30 minutes during that stretch, as well. The only downside here is that if Dallas runs away with this game early, head coach Jason Kidd may give his second unit guys more playing time as a result, therefore hurting P.J's upside.
Bradley Beal OVER 19.5 Points vs. Pelicans (-102)
Preview: Phoenix Suns vs. New Orleans Pelicans, 8 p.m. ET
This marks just the third time this season that Bradley Beal has taken the floor without Kevin Durant by his side for the Phoenix Suns, as Durant recently sprained his ankle in a game versus the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.
Beal has only scored 20 or more points four times this season, although two of those four box scores came with Durant sidelined, scoring 28 points against the Kings on Nov. 10 and then dropping 24 two days later on the Utah Jazz.
The New Orleans Pelicans rank third-from-the-bottom in defense, but they could be getting some bodies back in the lineup with the likes of Brandon Ingram, Yves Missi, and Herb Jones listed as questionable. Even so, Phoenix needs Beal to deliver sans Durant, and he's show he can produce under those circumstances.
