As the NBA slate is limited this week with just a single game on Tuesday and none on Wednesday, bettors in the player props market will need to capitalize on what's available beginning with the six matchups on Monday, December 16.
Here are three player props to potentially wager on, including one with a large payoff at +800 odds for Philadelphia 76ers guard Kelly Oubre Jr.
Kelly Oubre Jr. To Record A Double-Double vs. Hornets (+800)
Preview: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Charlotte Hornets, 7 p.m. ET
Usually one wouldn't associate racking up double-doubles as a part of Oubre Jr's arsenal, as he had accumulated 27 since entering the league in 2015 prior to Dec. 4. However, over the last three games, the 29-year-old has become a rebounding machine and notched three-straight double-doubles, averaging 12.3 points and 11 rebounds in 35.3 minutes.
Working in his favor against the Charlotte Hornets is that Joel Embiid (sinus), Jared McCain (knee), and Caleb Martin (shoulder) will all be sidelined with various injuries, meaning nothing is stopping Oubre Jr. from once again playing a ton of minutes, therefore putting himself in strong position to make it four double-doubles in a row.
Gradey Dick OVER 3.5 Rebounds vs. Bulls (-108)
Preview: Toronto Raptors vs. Chicago Bulls, 7:30 p.m. ET
Gradey Dick is another player who should be able to capitalize on the absence of a star teammate, as Scottie Barnes will be missing time with a sprained ankle. We'll be taking a look at his rebounds prop set at 3.5 against the Chicago Bulls, who allow the second-most rebounds to the opposition when playing at the United Center at 48.7.
In four games since returning from a calf injury, the sophomore guard has contributed 17.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in 29.9 minutes while hitting the OVER on 3.5 boards in each of his last three outings. Dick has also hit the OVER on this number in four of his last five appearances with Barnes out.
Jaden Ivey OVER 1.5 Made 3-Pointers vs. Heat (-113)
Preview: Detroit Pistons vs. Miami Heat, 7 p.m. ET
Despite ranking eighth on the Detroit Pistons in 3-point efficiency over the last six games, Jaden Ivey still finds himself attempting the third-most shots from behind the arc at 6.2 during that span, connecting on two per game.
He'll need that, at the very least, against the Miami Heat, who allow teams to convert 36.2 percent of their shots from behind the arc (21st) at the Kaseya Center. The frequency in which Ivey attempts shots from the perimeter, paired with the fact that he went 5-of-9 from deep earlier in the season when in South Beach, makes this prop a quality play.
