Beterbiev vs Smith Betting Preview: Who Wins?
Someone is getting flatlined in this fight. Let's find out who the unlucky fella will be.
How Beterbiev wins
Beterbiev, 38, is now also in a fight against father time, which raises questions about his durability and power. Still, the Russian is a big favorite vs Smith, and it's not hard to see why.
He's a bulldozer, capable of blistering opponents to the canvas with pure muscle. Beterbiev is aggressive — all 19 of his pro fights have ended inside the distance — and his heavy hooks often put opponents on ice skates.
Beterbiev wins this bout by getting in the ring and winging like he always does.
How Smith Wins
Smith is a decent match for Betebiev on power, but he's not a complete enough boxer to put himself in a position to win.
The Englishman is tall and holds a five-inch reach advantage over Beterbiev, making him best from range. Again, Smith's accuracy and power are solid, but he's not as well-versed with those gritty, in-tight exchanges. And I think that's where Beterbiev puts the hurt on him.
Beterbiev vs Smith Betting Pick
I'll go with Beterbiev by KO/TKO. Maybe that's too chalky, so stay tuned for an update as we move closer to August 19.
