In August 2018, the YouTube Championship Boxing Belt was on the line (or online?) with YouTubers Logan Paul and Olajide Olatunji (KSI) competing in an amateur boxing match. The initial bout was the first of an expected two and now the second is on the horizon. The two entertainers will square off again on November 9 at the Staples Center and the bout will once again be six rounds but will be a professional boxing match, meaning no headgear will be worn this time around.
Online sportsbooks has made Logan Paul the favorite in the rematch at -230 with KSI coming back at +180.

KSI vs Logan Paul II
After the success of the first match, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn jumped on the opportunity for the second bout and the fight will be shown on the online sports streaming service DAZN. The rematch will be at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California; after the first fight happened at Manchester Arena, it’s only fair for Paul to have the home-field advantage this time.
Also on the card, Billy Joe Saunders will be defending his WBO super-middleweight title against Marcelo Esteban Coceres. The champion, Saunders, is a huge -7000 favorite with Coceres coming back at +1350.

KSI vs Logan Paul History
KSI was awarded the YouTube Boxing Championship Belt after earning a third-round TKO victory over Joe Weller in February 2018. After that victory, he called out Logan Paul and his brother Jake. Three weeks later, the Paul brothers accepted the fights vs the Olatunji brothers with the older siblings, KSI and Logan, in the main event while Deji and Jake fought on the undercard.
The six-round bout was Logan’s first amateur boxing match, while it was the second for KSI. The event took place on August 25 on KSI’s home soil of Manchester, England at Manchester Arena and was available on pay-per-view through YouTube.
Both YouTubers had areas of success and the final result was a majority draw – not the first time we’ve seen this in big boxing events. Two judges scored it as 57-57 and one scored it 58-57 in favor of KSI.
KSI Boxing Analysis
KSI, who has 20.4 million YouTube subscribers, is fairly fast and has good cardio, having the ability to move well and throw flurries of punches through the entire six rounds. That was the major advantage he had in the fight as he really picked up steam in the later rounds, landing at a higher rate and also avoiding more strikes.
In the early rounds, KSI started slowly, only loading up on big wild punches that weren’t set up at all. The punches were loopy and rarely landed, but in the later stages they landed more frequently, putting Paul off balance several times. Another reason for KSI’s success in the back half of the fight was the use of his jab that bloodied Logan’s nose and allowed him to land the big hooks.
Logan Paul Boxing Analysis
Paul, with his 19.8 million YouTube subscribers, appeared to be the much bigger man in the match and fought the Sportsbook rounds with swagger, constantly showboating and talking smack. The American had good knowledge of distance, standing just on the outside of KSI’s reach, taunting him while being able to touch him with a jab while setting up heavier strikes.
When Logan landed, he got the attention of KSI, putting the Brit on his heels a few times early, but those moments faded the longer the bout went on. It appeared that Paul was maybe putting nearly all of his power into every punch and his cardio failed him later on and he was a sitting duck at times, only letting his hands fly when he had no other choice. At the end of the fight, Paul was doubled over against the ropes looking completely exhausted.
KSI vs Logan Paul II Prediction
The lack of headgear could actually be very pivotal in this rematch. The sixth round of the first fight was completely dominated by KSI and without headgear he may have earned a knockdown. Logan was stumbling around looking for the tie-up rather than throwing punches. With the power advantage in favor of Paul, KSI will have to be careful in the first two rounds without the headgear to cushion some of the blows, but after that, he may have the advantage.
I think that KSI probably should have won that first fight and I think he will start a little more quickly this time around.
Prediction: KSI via decision
KSI vs Logan Paul 2 Betting Props
If you’re unsure what a prop bet is, be sure to check out our prop bets explained article, but essentially, props are options outside of just picking a side of a game or a match, typically providing higher value than the outright Sportsbook. Two props for this boxing match that stand out to me are: KSI on points (+400) and KSI in Round 6 (+2800).
KSI on points means that he will win a decision. The first fight ended as a majority draw (which you can get at +1000) but one of the judges scored it in favor of KSI. If he can pick up the pace earlier in the fight or even earn a knockdown late, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him win on points.
A real shot in the dark is KSI to win in Round 6 at 28-1. KSI had Paul in trouble late in their first fight, landing heavy shots over and over again, and Paul was tired and stumbling around the ring. Without headgear in this rematch, if KSI were to land heavy late in the fight again, he might be able to floor Paul and, at +2800, it’s worth a little sprinkle, I would say.
