MLB Player Prop Picks Today: Back Wacha On Deadline Day

Welcome to a trade deadline edition of my MLB player prop picks today.

I'm focusing on two hot players with soft matchups today, highlighting Ketel Marte's hits and Michael Wacha's strikeouts as my MLB player prop selections.

Here are my two MLB player prop picks today with breakdowns:

MLB Prop Pick Today: Ketel Marte OVER 1.5 Hits (+135)

Nationals vs Diamondbacks Odds - Game Time: 9:40 pm ET

I'm fired up for this prop, because Marte has everything I look for in a player prop OVER these days. For starters, he's arguably the hottest hitter in baseball lately, with nine hits (including four homers) in the last week (19 at-bats).

He's hitting .474 in that stretch with a 1.658 OPS. Marte also rocks his opponent tonight, Nats' starter Patrick Corbin. The DBacks star has five hits (including two homers) in 12 at-bats in his career against Corbin.

If you bet the over 1.5 hits on Marte at this +135 line for the last seven games, you'd be up 2.4 units. Let's grab another win tonight.

MLB Prop Pick Today: Michael Wacha OVER 5.5 Ks (+120)

Royals vs White Sox Odds - Game Time: 8:10 pm ET

Wacha has gone over this 5.5 K mark in three of his last five starts. He's also gone over it in two of his three starts against the White Sox this year, averaging 6.3 strikeouts per contest against Chicago.

The Sox also have the eighth-highest team strikeout rate in MLB (24.1%) and just traded their second-best hitter in Tommy Pham last night. There's a chance they trade more good bats before today's deadline, too, like Luis Robert.

The Sox hitters that remain all stink (in general) and suck against Wacha, with active Chicago batters owning a career .141 average and .413 OPS vs Wacha.

A bad team like Chicago is the perfect squad to fade on deadline day, so I'm betting on the Royals ML as one of my MLB expert picks today and hitting Wacha's strikeout OVER.
