The Ford EcoBoost 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway this Sunday will see one man put the final stamp on his Sprint Cup Championship passport. Just four men remain in the Chase for the Cup and it all comes down to this, the final NASCAR race of the season, to decide who will take it home.
Sportsbook has lines up for which driver will take the checkered flag in Miami this weekend and unsurprisingly, Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards and Joey Logano, the last men remaining in the Sprint Cup playoffs, are all listed in the top six in the odds table.
Kevin Harvick was knocked out of the Sprint Cup in the round of 8 but is actually tied as the favorite with Johnson and Busch at +600. Harvick and Busch were the last two men to win this race with Kyle being the most recent.
Jimmie Johnson will look to win this race for the first time in his career and would lock up his seventh career Sprint Cup Championship with a win. This Chevy driver can also be grabbed at +600 and his pedigree is good. Johnson is a proven Sportsbook and he will only add to his incredible legacy with a win in Miami on Sunday.
Ford drivers may have an advantage in this race. Not because of the race sponsorship but because of the track record that’s seen Ford drivers win this race more often than any other manufacturer. The Ford EcoBoost 400, formerly the Ford 400, has only been run since 1999 but Ford drivers have an astounding seven wins in the 17 Sprint Cup races held at the Homestead-Miami racetrack.
It’s easy to forget about everyone else in the field as they are not competing for the major hardware but since this is the final race of the season, expect stiff competition from all drivers and maybe take a risk on some guys a little farther down the odds list.
