Coming off the final slate of group stage games in the 2024 NBA Cup, Wednesday's schedule of six outings isn't nearly as deep as the night prior, but the player props market can still thrive with quality wagers no matter the quantity of opportunities.
Here are three player prop bets to gauge, including Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard potentially lighting up the Atlanta Hawks at home with a juicy 3-pointers made prop at -104 odds.
Damian Lillard OVER 3.5 Made 3-Pointers vs. Hawks (-104)
Preview: Atlanta Hawks vs. Milwaukee Bucks, 8 p.m. ET
Until the Hawks get their act together defending the perimeter, taking any player on the opposing side with a history of attempting numerous outside shots at an efficient rate is the correct play.
Atlanta continues to rank dead last in the Association in opponent's 3-pointers made (16.2), attempted (42.1), and percentage (38.2), and now gets to face a Bucks team that's on no rest after blowing out the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, but still ranks ninth in 3-pointers made (14.6) at the third-best clip (39.4 percent).
Lillard has converted five or more triples in three-straight games, including eight makes against the Miami Heat on November 26. He's made 18-of-33 (54.5 percent) from deep during this recent stretch, and while Lillard did go UNDER on 3.5 makes twice last season against the Hawks, his numbers are high enough to trust in his ability to light them up at Fiserv Forum this time around.
Tyrese Haliburton UNDER 8.5 Assists vs. Nets (+114)
Preview: Indiana Pacers vs. Brooklyn Nets, 7:30 p.m. ET
Tyrese Haliburton was once projected to be a betting favorite to lead the league in assists by the end of the campaign, but he's falling further and further out of that race after seeing his contributions drop from 10.9 to a still respectable 8.5.
The Indiana Pacers are coming off an 11-point loss to the Toronto Raptors last night in which Haliburton played nearly 40 minutes and still only registered just six assists. He'll need nine or more against the Brooklyn Nets to reach an OVER, but he's failed to do that in three-straight games.
Haliburton also went UNDER on 8.5 dimes in two of Indiana's three meetings with the Nets a season ago. It's a gamble at plus money, because it's hard to determine which nights he'll focus more on being a scorer as opposed to being a facilitator, but his current cold streak in this statistical department still makes it worthwhile.
Norman Powell OVER 19.5 Points vs. Timberwolves (-111)
Preview: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Clippers, 10:30 p.m. ET
While his playing time has been restricted to an extent since returning from an injured hamstring, Norman Powell still hasn't skipped a beat offensively after averaging 29 points in his first two games back in the lineup for the Los Angeles Clippers.
All Powell needs to do against the Minnesota Timberwolves is score at least 20 points, which he's accomplished in 13 of his 17 appearances this season. This wager feels like a slam dunk, especially considering the 31-year-old wing hasn't toppled 26 minutes since coming back yet is still putting up monster numbers.
