The Arizona Cardinals visit the San Francisco 49ers as 7-point underdogs in Week 5 action Sunday in an NFC West rivalry that gave us two high scoring games last season. Oddsmakers set this total at 49.5 points after these two teams combined to score 125 points in their two meetings last year.
The 49ers are fresh off a beat down of the New England Patriots, while the Cardinals will be looking to move past their 42-14 loss to Jayden Daniels and the Commanders.

Cardinals vs 49ers Picks Week 5
49ers 1H ML (-260)
The 49ers have led at halftime in four of their last five games, despite only being 2-3 SU in those contests. This team starts fast thanks in part to a quality set of scripted plays on the first drive from Kyle Shanahan and I expect them to jump on top of the Cardinals early.
The 49ers led 21-10 and 21-13 at halftime in two games vs. Arizona last year when Shanahan and Jonathan Gannon matched wits.
Trent Williams was back to his all-pro self last week and now that George Kittle and Deebo Samuel are healthy, the 49ers are once again one of the NFL's elite offenses. Brock Purdy has been playing at an MVP level and RB Jordan Mason is averaging 4.9 YPC after averaging 5.2 YPC on limited carries (40) last season. Mason is the real deal and his punishing running style matches up well vs. the anemic Cardinals defense.
When the Cardinals have the ball, RB James Conner should be able to do some damage inside but that Arizona's only real advantage in this game.
Cardinals vs 49ers News
San Francisco LB Fred Warner hurt his ankle last week and reports are suggesting he is day-to-day and likely to play in this game but he didn't practice at all Wednesday so monitor his status closely.
Cardinals TE Trey McBride missed last week's game with a concussion and is likely to return, while Arizona kicker Matt Prater may need to sit out (knee) while Chad Ryland takes over.
Cardinals vs 49ers Props Week 5
Purdy Over 250.5 pass yards (-110)
I was happy to find this friendly number at Bet365 because several other markets has his yardage total closer to 260 yards with more juice.
I've seen this look in Brock Purdy's eyes before. He is absolutely locked in. He's on the same page with all of his receivers (well, besides Aiyuk), he's spreading the ball out nicely and he even when he doesn't get good protection he improvises and makes a big play. Purdy is in MVP form and I love him at home in this spot to have a big game vs. a bad defense.
