Much like the NBA and its planned bubble experiment in Orlando, Florida, Major League Soccer has made the trek to the Sunshine State for the MLS is Back Tournament and a West Coast team leads the oddsboard to take home the trophy.
Los Angeles FC is the current favorite to win the MLS is Back tourney, with LA at +400 according to the best soccer betting sites and ready for its first group game today vs the Houston Dynamo. It’s worth noting that LAFC is short-handed as reigning MLS MVP Carlos Vela has opted out of playing in Orlando.
The MLS is Back Tournament borrows elements from international tournament formats with group and knockout stages for 24 teams participating.
The group stage games count in the MLS regular-season standings while the Sportsbook of the tourney will earn a berth in the 2021 CONCACAF Champions League.

MLS is Back Tournament Key Dates
All MLS teams made their way to Orlando to start training and get on board with quarantine protocols for COVID-19. But Dallas FC and Nashville SC had to be removed from the tournament due to players testing positive. This means bettors need to be aware that there’s the possibility of other games being canceled or rescheduled or more teams being removed from the tourney altogether.

Current Groups
Much like the World Cup or any other large-scale soccer tournament, the MLS is Back tourney has six groups, each with four teams playing three times from July 8 to July 23. The top two teams from each group and four wild-card teams will move on to the knockout stages that get underway on July 25.
