Caceres vs Pineda Preview: Who Will Win?
This saucy featherweight bout could be fun for sports bettors.
How Caceres Wins
The lanky American wins by sticking to his wacky style. He's bouncy, fights with lots of energy and is decently well-versed in jiu-jitsu.
Caceres isn't the most vicious striker in the world (just two KO wins), but he's creative and, as an 11-year UFC veteran, he's better at adapting than Pineda. "The Pit" has plenty of fight experience, too, but Caceres is better equipped to win in various ways.
How Pineda Wins
It's a little less clear how Pineda wins. The 37-year-old has four UFC submission victories under his belt, so perhaps he'll go all out on the ground attack.
But my gut tells me Pineda won't play it that way. Caceres covers up pretty well (64% sig. strike defense) and often drags his bouts out longer. The Pit is a bringer of violence who, excluding one eye-poke no contest, has undertaken three straight finishes (two wins, one loss).
Caceres vs Pineda Pick
I'm riding with the veteran Caceres to get this done inside the distance.
