There's a lot at stake in this featherweight fracas.
How to Bet Mitchell vs Ige
If this fight were to have happened before Mitchell vs Topuria at UFC 280, we'd have a no-brainer pick on Thug Nasty. The Arkansas Native is loaded with cardio, wrestling savvy, and a submission game deep enough to drown anyone.
And then Mitchell got his butt whooped against Topuria in an ungodly one-sided beatdown. Now Mitchell will pick up the pieces nine months later vs Ige.
"50K" is hard to kill. He's never lost by stoppage, and 10 of his 14 UFC fights have gone the distance. That bodes well for the OVER 2.5 rounds.
This is a challenging fight to handicap, as it's so hard to say how Mitchell will look. But I'm a believer that the time off will do him well. There might not be a submission available for Thug Nasty, but he can repeatedly exploit Ige's 56% takedown defense.
