MLB Expert Picks Today: Fade Patrick Corbin

I'm back with two MLB expert picks for Tuesday.

I feel great about both these selections. I'm fading Patrick Corbin by taking the Yankees -1.5 and then backing the Rockies at Coors Field, as Colorado has actually been baseball's most profitable home team this season.

Here are my two MLB expert picks today:

MLB Expert Pick Today: Yankees -1.5 (-137) vs Nationals

Yankees vs Nationals Odds -- Game Time 6:46 p.m. ET

Patrick Corbin continues to be one of the best fades in baseball, that’s about all he brings to the table these days. The Nats lefty is 3-12 on the year (-7.48 units), including losing seven of his last 10 outings.

Yankees starter Gerrit Cole, on the other hand, has won three of his last four starts, allowing just three total runs in that stretch. He enters today’s game coming off back-to-back shutouts. Also, one of the reasons I feel so confident in the runline here is six of Cole’s seven wins this season have come by two or more runs.

I’m also banking on the Yankees offense to do some lifting today. They’re averaging 5.7 runs per game in the last six contests (with five runline covers in that stretch, too). New York bats own a collective .325 average and 1.109 OPS against Corbin in 117 career at-bats.

Giancarlo Stanton leads the way with a 1.093 OPS against Corbin, lifetime. You can bet on Stanton to hit a homer tonight at +215.

MLB Expert Pick Today: Rockies (-152) vs Marlins

Marlins vs Rockies Odds - Game Time: 8:41 pm ET

This is a wager on the Rockies at home. Colorado may be 19-50 (-15 units) on the road, but they’re actually baseball’s MOST profitable team at home. The Rockies are 30-33 at Coors Field this year, worth +8.9 units on the moneyline.

Tonight’s Colorado starter, Cal Quantrill, is also much better at Coors Field. His 4.99 road ERA lowers down to 4.06 at home, and the Rockies are 8-3 in his home starts this season.

Conveniently, the Marlins are one of the worst road teams in baseball this year. Miami is 22-40 away from home, worth -2.9 units. That’s the third-worst road record in MLB.
