Royals Yankees Game 2

Royals vs Yankees Odds & Picks Game 2: Pitching Duel Incoming

I'm here to break down Game 2 Royals vs Yankees odds for this American League Division Series contest.

The sportsbooks have Carlos Rodon and the Yankees as slight favorites over Cole Ragans and the Royals. My best bet for this one is on the run total, though.

Royals vs Yankees Pick - Game 2

UNDER 7.5 Runs (-114)

Game 1 of this series was pretty high scoring, but I think we're due for a pitching duel with Carlos Rodon and Cole Ragans on the mound.

For starters, both New York and Kansas City are much worse against lefties. The Yankees' team OPS ranks 12th in MLB vs LHP while the Royals rank 24th. With Rodon and Ragans both locked in, those struggles will be exploited. Rodon has a 2.20 ERA in his last five starts. Ragans has a 1.08 ERA in his last five.

The recent trends are very much in our favor here, too. Ragan's last seven starts have gone UNDER 7.5 runs. Five of Rodon's last seven starts have gone UNDER the mark.

Royals vs Yankees Player Prop Pick

Salvador Perez OVER 1.5 Total Bases (+115)

Rodon is historically pretty good against these Royals, but Sal Perez is the exception. Sal has 12 hits in 16 career at-bats against Rodon, good for a .462 average and 1.328 OPS. In two Rodon starts against the Royals this year, Perez had four hits and seven total bases.

Perez is also particularly solid on the road lately, recording hits in seven of his last eight road contests. He's had OVER 1.5 total bases in three of those.
