Bettors Should Keep Playing That Jazz
The Northwest Division standings are already ridiculously one-sided in favor of the Utah Jazz, who carry a four-game winning streak into Tuesday’s home encounter with the Boston Celtics. The Jazz (19-5 SU, 17-6-1 ATS) have made bettors of all types a lot of money so far, and they’ll look to continue their hot run against a Celtics team (12-10 SU, 12-10 ATS) that has dropped four of six.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
It didn’t take long for bettors to capitalize on the Sportsbook line of Jazz -4, pushing the number all the way to -5.5 in most spots. The total of 220.5, on the other hand, has held steady.
Boston News & Notes
The Celtics have been hit hard by injuries to key players – but they might be getting a little healthier in time for Tuesday’s pivotal showdown. Star forward Jaylen Brown is questionable after missing the previous two games with a knee injury. His return would bolster the Boston attack significantly, with Brown ranked second on the team in scoring at 26.4 points per game.
Absences have curtailed what was expected to be a conference championship-caliber run for the Celtics; they’ve had just one player (center Daniel Theis) appear in all 22 games this season, while starters Jayson Tatum, Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker have missed five, five and 13 games, respectively. No Boston player is worthy of DFS consideration against the stalwart Jazz.
Utah News & Notes
The deep and talented Jazz are an unfathomable 15-1 SU in their past 16 games and they aren’t just racking up the W’s – they’re dominating. Thirteen of their 15 victories over that span have come by double digits, lifting their average point differential to +8.6, the best margin in the Western Conference and second only to the Milwaukee Bucks league-wide.
In terms of daily fantasy value, however, players will need to be choosy. Donovan Mitchell can go off on any given night, but he doesn’t provide much in the way of peripherals. The rest of the scoring is spread out among the other four starters, while center Rudy Gobert doesn’t play enough minutes to warrant his big price tag. The one player to consider: guard Jordan Clarkson.
Betting Pick: Jazz -5.5 (-110)
You could get off the Jazz train now, but we have complete faith in this team to take care of business against a Celtics squad that has struggled with consistency and is still dealing with health issues.
