Bulls Lose Close Game To NBA-Leading Suns

Chicago lost its second straight game on Monday, falling 127-124 to the NBA-leading Phoenix Suns. Devin Booker led the Suns with 38 points while both DeMar DeRozan (38 points) and Zach LaVine (32 points) had big nights for the Bulls but didn’t get much support. Only two other Chicago players finished in double digits.

The Bulls got a welcome addition to their lineup on Monday with LaVine’s return, and while his offensive contribution helped them keep the game close, they gave up far too much defensively once again. Chicago has surrendered an average of 121.4 points per game over its last seven contests, going 3-4 SU over that span.

Ayo Dosunmu (concussion) is out for Wednesday’s matchup.

Hornets’ Offensive Struggles Continue vs Raptors

The Hornets’ woes continued Monday with a 116-101 loss to the Toronto Raptors, marking their fifth straight defeat. Pascal Siakam and Gary Trent Jr. topped Toronto with 24 points apiece while Miles Bridges dropped 25 to lead Charlotte in a losing effort.

While the Hornets own the second-best offense in the NBA this season (113.4 points per game), they’ve struggled to score over their current five-game slide, averaging just 97 points per contest over that span. The team’s leading scorers, Bridges and LaMelo Ball, have seen a significant dip over their last few outings as Bridges is averaging 14.5 points over his last four contests while Ball is scoring 14 points per game over his last three.

Gordon Hayward (ankle), Jalen McDaniel (ankle) and Cody Martin (foot) are out while James Bouknight (wrist) is doubtful.

Bulls vs Hornets Pick & Insights

Bulls: Keys To Cover

The Bulls have a clear path to get back on track and that’s by cleaning up their defensive game. They haven’t been great in their own half this season, allowing 110.2 points per game (18th), but it’s at least been good enough to help them get near the top of the Eastern Conference. If they can hold the Hornets to that number, they should be in the clear.

Hornets: Keys To Cover

Wednesday’s matchup could be the perfect storm for the Hornets, who are coming up against a Bulls team that has been extremely loose of late. With Charlotte’s top four scorers all in the lineup Wednesday, they could finally be poised for a much-needed offensive explosion.
