Struggling Cavaliers are the Worst Bet in the NBA Right Now
In the wake of four straight losses, something is clearly off in the water in Northeast Ohio right now. The struggling Cleveland Cavaliers will try to right the ship on the road against John Wall and the Washington Wizards on Friday.
Cleveland had a team meeting on Tuesday but proceeded to go out and drop a 124-107 decision at home to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. The defense has sprung a major leak, as the Cavs have allowed at least 112 points in each of their last six games and allowed the Pacers to shoot a sizzling 54.4 percent from the floor.
The Wizards are coming off a disappointing 122-116 road setback to the Phoenix Suns but will have an opportunity to get comfortable for a while with five of their next six contests being played in D.C. The loss to the Suns was the Wizards’ third defeat in their previous four affairs.
To make matters worse for Cleveland, Tristan Thompson suffered a left calf strain on Wednesday and will reportedly miss a month of action. Without their best rebounder in the fold, the Cavs will have to lean heavily on a bench that’s underperformed so far, to say the least.
The Cavaliers have been covering with ease when traveling to D.C. of late, as Cleveland is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 trips to Washington.
