Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Sportsbook line on this one has remained steady with Boston still going off as a 3.5-point favorite at home. The total has moved down half a point from 218.5 to 218.
Dallas News & Notes
It’s hard to believe that Luka Doncic is only 20 years old and only in his second season in the NBA. Doncic had an excellent rookie campaign in which he averaged 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds and six assists per game in 2018-19. He is blowing those totals away through the first nine games of the 2019-20 season with 27.7 points, 10.8 rebounds and 9.1 assists per game. As a result, the Mavericks are off to an impressive 6-3 SU start to the season.
In an interesting quirk to the start of their season, the Mavericks have been far better on the road than they have been at home. Dallas is 2-3 SU and 0-5 ATS in its first five home games while going a perfect 4-0 SU and ATS on the road.
Boston News & Notes
Gordon Hayward’s unbelievable run of bad luck with the Boston Celtics continued last Saturday when he broke his hand in Boston’s 135-115 road win over the San Antonio Spurs. Hayward was averaging 20.3 points and 7.9 rebounds per game heading into that contest and had nine points in 15 minutes against the Spurs before the injury.
Despite the bad news coming from the Hayward injury, the Celtics continued their roll with the blowout win to improve to 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS over their last seven games. Boston is also now 6-0 SU in its last six games played in the month of November.
Betting Pick: Dallas +3.5
This should be a competitive game between two teams off to an impressive start in 2019-20. Even if the Mavericks don’t win outright, they’ve got a good shot at keeping it close.
