Can the Pacers Continue to Overachieve vs the Bucks?

After arguably their worst loss of the season to the Suns, the Milwaukee Bucks will look to regroup when they host a pesky Indiana Pacers squad tonight. The Pacers are 10-4 SU since the start of February and are showing their team is more than just Victor Oladipo and spare parts. The Bucks, on the other hand, may have hit a skid after being so consistent this season and aren’t beating teams down as thoroughly as they were back at the start of the year.

The Bucks opened as 10.5-point favorites with a total of 221.5.

STANDOUT STATS

  • The Pacers rank fifth in opponent scoring in road games by limiting teams to 107.7 points per game and are second in forced turnovers (16.5 per game).
  • The Pacers are 10-4 SU in 14 games since February 1 with each loss by less than 10 points.
  • The Bucks are allowing 117 points per game since the all-star break, which ranks 21st in the NBA in that span.
  • The Bucks own the best point differential in the NBA for home games at +12.8 but while they’re 17-3 SU in their last 20 home games, they’ve only covered the spread in nine of those contests.
  • The Pacers are 8-1 SU in their last nine games after losing the previous game in a matchup.
  • The total has gone UNDER in five of the Pacers’ last seven games on the road (avg. combined score: 209.43).

My Best Bet for Pacers vs Bucks

Pacers +10.5

Too many points. This is a divisional game and although I wouldn’t encourage someone to take the Pacers moneyline, I think they have a great chance to keep this game within 10 points. The Pacers’ defense is still legit and although stopping Giannis Antetokounmpo is easier said than done, they have limited him to 23.3 points per game in three meetings this season. I expect the Pacers to try to limit the Bucks’ possessions and keep this game close and if you’re not comfortable taking Indy, the UNDER may be a decent alternative.
