Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Clippers opened this matchup as 5.5-point favorites on the road over the struggling Kings. The total was set at 218.5 points with the UNDER going 6-3 in the last nine meetings. Los Angeles is 1-4 ATS in its last five games while Sacramento is 2-5 ATS in its last seven.

Los Angeles News & Notes

The Clippers dropped their third straight game on Monday, losing 116-92 to the San Antonio Spurs. Dejounte Murray scored 24 points to go with 13 assists and 12 rebounds in a triple-double for the Spurs, while Paul George led the Clips with a game-high 25 points.

It was another weak offensive showing for Los Angeles, which is scoring at a clip of just 105.6 points per game this season – 25th in the NBA. The Clippers have struggled to provide a supporting cast for George, especially in the absence of Kawhi Leonard. That issue was especially clear on Monday as the team’s second-highest scorer, Ivica Zubac, chipped in with just 12 points.

Marcus Morris Sr. (quarantine) and Isaiah Hartenstein (ankle) are out for Wednesday’s contest.

Sacramento News & Notes

The Kings lost 113-98 to the Golden State Warriors on Monday in their last time out. Stephen Curry led all scorers with 30 points while Tyrese Haliburton dropped 24 points and 11 assists to lead the Kings.

Unlike the Clippers, who have struggled offensively, the Kings have actually been fine in that department as they rank sixth in points per game (110.8). The problem in Sacramento has been in their own half of the court as they’re allowing 114.3 points against per game – the second-worst mark in the league.

Sacramento is one of several teams that have been affected by COVID-19 as they currently have seven players in health and safety protocols: De’Aaron Fox, Alex Len, Davion Mitchell, Louis King, Terence Davis, Marvin Bagley III and Neemias Queta. Richaun Holmes (eye) is also questionable for Wednesday.

How Los Angeles Will Cover

The Clippers have a good chance to beat up on a struggling Kings squad that’s without its top scorer in Fox along with several other players out due to quarantine. The Clips themselves have been in a rut, but if George gets any assistance at all, they should be able to end their losing skid.

How Sacramento Will Cover

While the Kings are without several key players, they have owned the Clippers this season, taking both of the first two meetings. If Sacramento can contain George, Los Angeles will likely struggle to score, which should at least keep the game close.
