UPDATE: LeBron Out, Lakers in Tough in Oakland
The NBA continues to do its best to steal the spotlight from the NFL during Super Bowl week (it’s kinda been working, by the way) as the Lakers head to the Bay Area for their third meeting in just over a month with the Golden State Warriors. Golden State opened as a 9.5-point favorite with the total Sportsbook at 236 points.

James Ruled Out Last-Minute
We all expected LeBron to play tonight after putting in 40 minutes of work on Thursday in the win over the Clippers. Since the news of James not playing, the spread is now massive - 14.5 and still climbing.
An injury-riddled Lakers team that also has trade rumors swirling around it could make for an ugly game tonight after we initially thought we'd get a potential rematch of the entertaining Christmas Day game.
Warriors Coming Off a Rare Home Loss
Golden State has covered the spread in just three of their last 14 home games, however, it’s quite rare that they lose straight up at Oracle Arena. The champs are 18-7 on home court this year and the loss to Philly was their first since January 3 as they bookended an otherwise flawless January with losses at the beginning and end.
With this success, Sportsbooks have once again started to hit Warriors bettors with double-digit spreads on the regular, and they’ll be staring at another tonight.
Keep an eye on the status of Klay Thompson before locking in your bet for tonight. Thompson is automatic from three-point land but without him on Thursday, the Warriors shot just 28.9 percent from the outside – 10 percentage points off their season average.
My Play For This Game
With the late scratch of James, I don't have a play for this game. If you got in on the Warriors at the early number, enjoy your win!
