Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Expert Picks
Dallas Mavericks ATS +4.5 (-114), ML (+152)
The Thunder currently possess the shortest odds to take the entire in-season tournament, meaning oddsmakers believe they'll eek by the Mavericks and go on to hoist the Cup in the second year of its existence. Dallas took the initial meeting on Nov. 17 by two points on the road at the Paycom Center, 121-119, and that was without Luka Doncic available, although Oklahoma City didn't have Chet Holmgren or Isaiah Hartenstein either.
With just two home losses all season, and five in total, beating the Thunder in their backyard obviously won't be easy for the Mavericks, even though they're a respectable 8-5 away from the American Airlines Center. Oklahoma City's excellence usually means giant spreads in its favor, which explains why the team has been humdrum covering as of late with just three covers in its last seven attempts at home. All of those spreads were by 6.5 points or greater.
Both sides are riding waves of momentum, with the Thunder having strung together three-straight victories while the Mavericks are in the midst of a league-best seven-game winning streak. In fact, Dallas has just a single loss since November 14, and that was in overtime to the Miami Heat.
A Mavericks win would be considered an upset in odds only, but considering their recent success, and knowing they're capable of defeating Oklahoma City even without Doncic like they did not that long ago, taking the plus moneyline will lead to greater reward on Tuesday.
OVER 231 Total Points (-110)
After three-straight UNDERs hit between the two sides, both the Mavericks and Thunder have connected on consecutive OVERs, with the Nov. 17 game of course hitting 240 combined points.
If that's the bar sans Doncic, with him being in the lineup on Tuesday, then a third OVER in a row should be forthcoming.
Dallas Mavericks vs. Oklahoma City Thunder Player Prop
Isaiah Hartenstein OVER 11.5 Rebounds (-108)
Since returning to the lineup on November 20, Hartenstein ranks fourth in the Association in rebounding at 12.8 per game while hitting the OVER on 11.5 boards in six of his eight appearances.
He grabbed 15 rebounds at Dallas last season on Jan. 11 while suiting up for the New York Knicks, as well.
