Tyrese Maxey dropped 33 points to lead the Sixers, while Joel Embiid sat out for a planned rest day. Ja Morant scored 37 for the Grizzlies in his seventh straight outing of 30-plus points while Desmond Bane added 34.

The Grizzlies, who boast the NBA’s fourth-best offense (112.1 points per game), have prided themselves on their depth this season, though it was nowhere to be seen in Monday’s loss. Only three players finished in double digits as starters Ziaire Williams and Steven Adams scored just eight and seven points, respectively.
