Milwaukee Takes Momentum Into Game 5 Against Phoenix
The home team is 4-0 SU and ATS through the first four games of the NBA Finals between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Phoenix Suns. The Bucks will try to snap this trend in Game 5 when they take on the Suns in Phoenix this Saturday night.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Suns opened as a 3.5-point home favorite before receiving enough betting action to bump the line up to Phoenix -4. The total has moved up slightly to 218.5 points since Sportsbook at 218 points. Milwaukee is 3-8 ATS in its last 11 games against Phoenix.
Milwaukee News & Notes
Khris Middleton produced his highest scoring total of the season on Wednesday night in a 15-for-33 performance that led to 40 points of offense in Milwaukee’s 109-103 win over the Suns. Giannis Antetokounmpo added 26 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists in the victory as the Bucks managed to come out on top despite a dismal shooting day from Jrue Holiday (4-for-20 from the floor, 0-for-5 from three-point range).
Now the Bucks need to prove that they can play this caliber of basketball on the road. Milwaukee is 17-1 SU and 12-6 ATS in its last 18 home games. But by sharp contrast, the Bucks are just 8-10 SU and 7-11 ATS in their last 18 games on the road. The path to an NBA Championship requires winning either Game 5 or Game 7 away from home.
Phoenix News & Notes
Devin Booker bounced back from a poor performance in Phoenix’s 120-100 Game 3 loss to the Bucks with an excellent effort in Game 4 shooting 17-for-28 from the floor en route to a 42-point game. But much like in Game 2 when Antetokounmpo scored 42 points and didn’t get much help from his supporting cast, Booker got only 10 points from Chris Paul and six points from Deandre Ayton in the loss.
Phoenix has now scored only 101.5 points per game over its last two games since scoring 122 points per game over its previous three games. Each of those three games with 118 points or more scored were played at home. It will be interesting to see if Games 3 and 4 have any effect on Game 5, or if Phoenix’s return home will mean a return to dominance.
