Antetokounmpo Scores Career-High 55 Points
The Bucks picked up a much-needed win on Tuesday, defeating the Washington Wizards 123-113 in the second half of a home-and-home. Giannis Antetokounmpo took over the game with a career-high 55-point performance while Brook Lopez (21 points, 12 rebounds) and Bobby Portis (17 points, 13 rebounds) each had double-doubles.
While Antetokounmpo sat out Sunday’s 118-95 loss to the Wizards with a sore knee, the two-time MVP has posted at least 40 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in each of his last three appearances. Per ESPN, the Bucks star became just the third player to score 40 points in three straight appearances for Milwaukee, with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar being the last to do so in February 1972.
Pacers Hand The Raptors Another Loss
The Raptors’ struggles continued Monday as they fell 122-114 to the Indiana Pacers. Bennedict Mathurin led the Pacers with 21 points while six others finished in double digits for Indiana. Meanwhile, Gary Trent Jr. topped Toronto with 32 points while Pascal Siakam (26 points) and Scottie Barnes (23 points) had 20-plus each in the loss.
Offensive production has been a problem for the Raptors all season long and it’s come to the forefront during their current slide. Toronto is scoring just 111.4 points per game this season – the fifth-worst mark in the NBA. Siakam actually increased his production in December, bumping his points per game up to 28.3, but the Raptors’ lack of depth outside of their starting five has caused huge problems for their offense.
Bucks: Keys To Win
The Bucks are one of the top defensive teams in the NBA this season, ranking sixth with 110.7 points against per game. Coming up against a Raptors team that’s low on scoring and confidence, the Bucks should be able to shut them down pretty comfortably. And if that fails, Antetokounmpo is there to likely score another 40-plus points.
Raptors: Keys To Win
The Raptors are still a solid defensive team, ranking 10th in the league in points against per game, but that only takes you so far when your scoring options are so limited. If the Raps are going to win this game, they’ll need big performances from three or four of their starters while also limiting the damage from Antetokounmpo.
