Booker Stays Hot As Suns Win Seventh Straight

The Suns won the first game of the home-and-home set against Utah on Monday by a score of 115-109. Devin Booker led all scorers with 33 points while Chris Paul (27 points, 14 assists, 9 rebounds) narrowly missed out on a triple-double and Bismack Biyombo (16 points, 13 rebounds) had a double-double of his own.

Phoenix, which posted a franchise-record 18-game win streak earlier this season, is on its second-best run of 2021-22 with seven straight victories. Booker has, of course, been the Suns’ offensive catalyst during their streak, averaging 28.7 points over his last seven outings.

Jae Crowder (wrist), Deandre Ayton (ankle), JaVale McGee (knee), Abdel Nader (knee) and Cameron Payne (wrist) are out.

Mitchell Injury Has Added to Utah’s Recent Woes

The Jazz dropped their second straight game in Monday’s loss to the Suns. Jordan Clarkson led the team with 22 points and seven players scored in double digits but Utah simply gave up too much defensively in the loss.

Utah has had a rough go lately, winning just two of its last 10 games. To make matters worse, the Jazz lost leading scorer Donovan Mitchell on January 18 as he was placed in concussion protocol after taking a hit the previous night against the Los Angeles Lakers. The Jazz have gone 1-3 in the four games without Mitchell so far, and he’ll miss Wednesday’s matchup as well.

Rudy Gobert (calf) is out while Bojan Bogdanovic (finger), Royce O’Neale (knee) and Joe Ingles (ankle) have all been upgraded to probable.

Suns vs Jazz Pick & Insights

Suns: Keys To Cover

The Suns’ depth chart has taken a big hit with two starters and two key bench players ruled out for Wednesday’s game, but they’ve still got more than enough tools to top a Jazz team that’s also beat up. Booker and Paul have looked virtually unstoppable over the past month while Biyombo has filled in with some big performances. If those three continue to lead the way, Phoenix should win comfortably.

Jazz: Keys To Cover

The Jazz will be in tough without two of their top three scorers on Wednesday. Bogdanovic will likely play big minutes if he makes his return, but he’ll need help. Clarkson has 20-plus points in two of his last three outings while Rudy Gay has averaged 14.5 points over his last two games. More of that depth scoring will be necessary for a Jazz upset win.
