The NBA schedule for Monday night is slim pickings with just a pair of games taking place, likely because of the NCAAB men's national basketball championship occurring between Duke and Houston. Regardless, limited action just means we'll have to pinpoint multiple player props from each outing to increase our units.
Here are four expert player props for your consideration, including a 3-pointers prop for Sacramento Kings wing Zach LaVine (-104) against the Detroit Pistons on April 7, 2025.
Zach LaVine To Hit 3+ 3-Pointers vs. Pistons (-104 Sportsbook)
Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Detroit Pistons, 7 p.m. ET
A combination of high output and quality efficiency gives LaVine the nod here with this shooting prop, as the 30-year-old has been bombs away from the perimeter as of late and knocking triples down at a stellar clip.
Across his last four appearances, LaVine has shot a combined 17-of-33 from behind the arc, which equates to 51.5 percent and is 8.7-percent higher than his season average since being acquired by the Kings. He's connected on four or more 3-pointers in three of those outings, and he only needs three at Little Caesars Arena to nail a prop that's closing in on plus-money value.
While it was with the Chicago Bulls, LaVine did shoot 7-of-14 from deep on the road versus Detroit back on November 18. Now the Kings are competing on the second night of a back-to-back slate after upsetting the Cleveland Cavaliers 120-113 over the weekend, but in the 12 instances in which LaVine has suited up on no rest, he's converted three or more 3-pointers eight different times.
Ausar Thompson OVER 21.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists vs. Kings (-128 Sportsbook)
Preview: Sacramento Kings vs. Detroit Pistons, 7 p.m. ET
Like this twin brother Amen out in Houston, Ausar Thompson has proven to be a light defensively with Detroit in his sophomore year who can produce numbers literally across the board. It may be late in the campaign, but if there was ever a time to capitalize on his props, it's certainly now as Thompson has played 31 or more minutes in four of his last five appearances after not doing so even once in any game prior.
In those five games, Thompson has averaged 15.6 points, eight rebounds, and three assists while shooting 48.5 percent from the field. He's exceeded a combination prop of 21.5 points, boards, and dimes in three-straight games and five of his last six, as well.
Thompson plays more than three quarters of his minutes at the small forward position, which the Kings rank in the top-third of the Association in stifling according to Odds Shark's metrics. He's been pretty bulletproof against some of the league's elite defensive units, though, so there's no need to worry too much about him not finding some success here.
Alec Burks OVER 2.5 Made 3-Pointers vs. 76ers (+140 at Sportsbook)
Preview: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat, 7:30 p.m. ET
It's smart to lean towards at least one outside marksman whenever any team is playing the Philadelphia 76ers, who rank dead last in opponent's 3-pointers made (15.7) and efficiency (40.2 percent) since the All-Star break. In fact, Philadelphia is the only team allowing the opposition to connect on better than 40 percent from 3-point range during that stretch.
Miami Heat guard Alec Burks is purely a specialist in that field. In his last seven games in the starting backcourt, of the 62 shots he's attempted, 51 of them have been from the perimeter, knocking them down at 43.1 percent. Now he's only made one or none at all in three of his last four appearances, but Burks is coming off a 6-of-14 performance on April 15 in an overtime loss to the Milwaukee Bucks which boosts our confidence in this prop hitting to kick off the week.
The 33-year-old journeyman finished with six 3-pointers against the Sixers in a blowout victory on the road at the end of last month, and he only needed less than 20 minutes of action to get the job done, as well.
Jared Butler OVER 18.5 Points + Assists (-108 at Sportsbook)
Preview: Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat, 7:30 p.m. ET
The diversity of Philadelphia's scoring attack beyond the efforts of Quentin Grimes these days is a headache for bettors, and unfortunately due to the lack of options, we're stuck rolling the dice on seeing who will step up here in South Beach. Justin Edwards was at one time the safer play, but he's finished with fewer than 10 points in three-straight games, so Jared Butler is next up.
Butler is only averaging the fifth-most minutes on the roster over the last five games, yet he's still contributing a healthy 13.8 points to go along with his team-high seven assists. The latter will come quite in handy here for this combination prop, as Butler has gone OVER 18.5 points and dimes in three of his last five games.
He registered a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists on March 29 against the Heat, which was his second-highest P+A number of the entire season. Let's hope something similar occurs on Monday night.
