Toronto Raptors vs. Denver Nuggets Expert Picks

Toronto Raptors ATS +10 (-106), Denver Nuggets ML (-500)

Toronto has been hindered by injuries to key cogs to their offense since opening night, with the likes of Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and No. 19 overall pick Ja'Kobe Walter all having missed time. Scottie Barnes is now out for at least a month with a broken orbital bone, and he had a near triple-double of 21 points, 12 rebounds, and nine assists in the Raptors' 127-125 loss to the Nuggets on October 28 at Scotiabank Arena.

Denver has come out of the gates a pedestrian 3-3 SU, covering the spread on just two occasions with two of its victories needing an extra five minutes to seal the deal. While Toronto isn't too far behind at 2-5 SU, its well ahead in the ATS market with the second-best record across the Association at 6-1 ATS. Even with the slew of injuries, the Raptors have somehow managed to average 119.4 points per game, which ranks fifth overall.

Toronto has dropped its last two games in the Mile High City over the past few seasons, although both losses were by an average of 5.5 points. The Nuggets are coming off a convincing 129-103 win over the Utah Jazz to get back to the .500 mark, which was their first home victory of the campaign. Even so, Denver isn't looking like a world-beater through six outings, and the Raptors are playing with the mentality that they can compete with anyone despite being outgunned and undermanned.

That confidence should keep the away side within 10 points, although it won't be enough to take down the Nuggets on the moneyline. Denver is also just 2-10 covering the spread in their last 12 games as a betting favorite, as well, and Jamal Murray has just been ruled out as he's in the concussion protocol.

OVER 229.5 Points (-110)

As is the case in ATS, along with the aforementioned points per game numbers, the Raptors have quietly put together a strong offensive start that's propelled them to a solid 6-1 record in the OVER/UNDER market, only bested by the perfect 7-0- Atlanta Hawks.

Denver is only allowing 105 points per 100 possessions at home in three games, good enough for seventh overall, but Toronto is dead last in defensive rating on the road and can only keep pace by putting the ball through the mesh. Points should be bountiful here, helping connect on a OVER wager.

Toronto Raptors vs. Denver Nuggets Player Prop

Gradey Dick OVER 22.5 Points + Rebounds (-113)

We're riding the wave of momentum that Gradey Dick has conjured up for himself to another payout in his player props. The 20-year-old sharpshooter is averaging 21 points on the season, shooting 46.8 percent from the field while knocking down 2.7 makes from 3-point range.

Dick has hit the OVER on 22.5 points and rebounds in four of his last five games, averaging 24.6 points and 3.2 boards during that span. He's also playing a healthy 34.2 minutes during this stretch, and with more playing time, the box scores should follow through with big rewards.

Toronto Raptors vs. Denver Nuggets Betting Trends

  • RJ Barrett has failed to exceed 0.5 blocks in six-straight games, having registered zero blocks during that run.
  • Christian Braun has failed to exceed 12.5 points in 14 of his last 16 games at home (7.4 points/game average).
  • Davion Mitchell has failed to exceed 16.5 points + assists in 10 of his last 11 games on the road (11.4 points + assists/game average).
