Clippers’ Past Dominance Over Kings is Well-Documented
The Los Angeles Clippers have won six in a row over the Sacramento Kings, including a 133-121 road triumph on November 29, and the Clips will be attempting to make it seven straight over the Kings when they host Sacramento on Wednesday. Sportsbooks opened the Kings as 5.5-point road underdogs with a total of 238.5.
Clippers are starting to slide down the standings
Sacramento has bounced back from double-digit deficits to win each of its past two contests, with victories over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday and the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday. Center Willie Cauley-Stein recorded 22 points and collected a career-high 17 rebounds against New Orleans for his second straight double-double and 12th of the campaign. Shooting guard Bogdan Bogdanovic scored a career-high 26 points in last month’s loss to the Clippers.
L.A. is slipping right now, evidenced by losses in seven of its past 10 games, including a 129-127 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday. The Clippers were a fantastic 18-for-23 from three-point range in the loss to the Dubs and that shooting percentage of 78.3 beyond the arc was the best in NBA history on a minimum of 20 attempts. The Clippers can hang their hat on their dominance over the Kings, however, as Los Angeles has won 14 of the past 16 meetings between the teams.
Kings, Clippers have been going OVER with ease
When it comes to the total, the OVER is trending when the Kings have hit the court lately. The OVER has paid out in six of Sacramento’s last seven games entering this one, and the Kings have gone OVER in 14 of their previous 17 road contests. The Clippers are riding a four-game OVER streak of their own.
The Kings have been a stay-away when it comes to the spread in this series, as Sacramento is 0-4 ATS in its past four matchups vs Los Angeles. The favorite is 4-0 ATS in their past four tilts as well.
My pick: take the OVER
The extremely high number may scare away some bettors, but I’m banking on the OVER trend continuing here. After all, the OVER is 4-0 in the previous four matchups between the Kings and Clips and five of their past seven in Los Angeles have eclipsed the closing total. Expect more fireworks to ensue and take the OVER.
